Geumdunsa is a temple situated at the foot of Geumjeonsan in Nagan-myeon, Suncheon, and located at the center of the tourism belt connected to Songgwangsa and Naganeupseong Folk Village, it not only offers beautiful scenery but is also quite large in scale.

This land was part of Mahan during the Samhan period, was Paji Fortress during the Baekje period, and was the seat of Nagan-gun in the Goryeo period. Because the Joseon-era fortress, dongheon, gaeksa, General Im Gyeong-eop Memorial Stele, marketplace, and thatched houses have been preserved in their original form, it became the first place in Korea where both a fortress and a village were jointly designated as a Historic Site.
