Sep 15, 2026 ~ Oct 25, 2026 · 10, Jungang-ro 8-gil, Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do
The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival is a culture and arts festival held throughout Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun. It is designed to combine local spaces and cultural resources with various media contents, allowing visitors to experience them in new ways. This year, under the theme of the friendship between poet Ku Sang and painter Lee Jung-seob, the festival expands and presents the lives and artistic worlds of the two artists through content in literature, art, media, performances, and more. In particular, moving away from the approach of concentrating content in a single venue, the festival is operated as a space-moving festival in which visitors move directly through everyday spaces across Waegwan-eup to experience the programs. Festival participants follow designated routes and spaces, encountering exhibitions, media content, hands-on activities, and performance programs in sequence. The festival is structured so that the characteristics of each space and its content are connected to form a single festival experience. Through this, the festival aims to transform ordinary local spaces into places for experiencing culture and the arts, and to reinterpret the region’s cultural resources and stories as new content. It also seeks to share the value of literature and art through the relationship and works of the two artists, Ku Sang and Lee Jung-seob, while providing local residents and visitors with an opportunity to walk through the spaces of Waegwan and experience culture and the arts directly.
