Dobong Old Road Cultural Festival

Jun 20, 2026 ~ Jun 20, 2026

Dobong-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul Special City

Dobong Old Road refers to the Dobong-gu section of Gyeongheung-daero, the second of the six major roads that connected Hanyang, the capital of the Joseon Dynasty, with various parts of the Korean Peninsula. In the past, countless people walked Gyeongheung-daero and Dobong Old Road carrying their own grand dreams, including the royal envoy sent to Hamheung during the reign of King Taejong of Joseon to persuade Yi Seong-gye, the troops that marched out for the Four Garrisons and Six Posts during the reign of King Sejong, and the peddlers who delivered dried pollock and pollock jerky to Hanyang. The “Gyeongheung-daero Dobong Old Road Cultural Festival” is a festival that promotes the historical and cultural value of “Dobong Old Road,” Dobong-gu’s representative local cultural platform, and “Gyeongheung-daero,” while revealing that the lives of local residents themselves are local culture. The 6th Gyeongheung-daero Dobong Old Road Cultural Festival took inspiration from the characteristic of a “road” where the lives and stories of countless people gather and disperse. A rich variety of sights and activities awaits local residents, including the “Dobong Old Road Street Parade,” which marches along Dobong Old Road together with the “Dobong Old Road Art Troupe” made up of local cultural artists, the “Invited Performance by the Buan County Municipal Nongak Troupe” together with sister city Buan County, the “Gyeongheung-daero Traveling Theater Troupe,” the Gyeongheung-daero episode-based theatrical game “Gyeongheung-daero Night Walk,” exhibition grounds, Darakwon Market, and a Dano celebration play yard.
