Deoksugung Palace Night at Seokjojeon

[Deoksugung Night at Seokjojeon] is an evening viewing program at Deoksugung Palace consisting of a guided “Seokjojeon Night Tour” with a professional interpreter, a “Terrace Cafe Experience” where visitors enjoy classical music along with gabehcha (coffee), beloved by Emperor Gojong, and dessert, and a musical performance telling stories of the imperial family of the Korean Empire. Launched as a pilot project in 2021, it was officially held in 2022 thanks to high satisfaction and strong public response, and has been operated semiannually since 2023. This multidisciplinary cultural experience program invites visitors to follow a palace attendant’s guidance on a special journey through time inside Deoksugung Seokjojeon, which holds stories of the Korean Empire’s imperial family, and to remember their night at Deoksugung Seokjojeon for a long time through “Life Palace Cut” photos using enlightenment-era props and commemorative souvenirs.
