Buying a SIM at the airport

SKT, KT, and LGU+ all have counters in the arrivals halls of both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Incheon International Airport. Data-only prepaid SIMs let you use the internet without a local call plan. Plans run in 5-day, 10-day, and 30-day options. You need your passport for on-the-spot activation.

Using an eSIM

An eSIM is a digital SIM installed directly on your device with no physical card needed. Compatible devices include iPhone XS and later, Galaxy S20 and later. All three major Korean carriers offer traveler eSIM plans that you can buy and install online before landing.

Pocket WiFi versus a personal SIM

Pocket WiFi suits groups sharing one connection, rented and returned at Incheon Airport for roughly KRW 6,000–10,000 per day. The downside is carrying an extra device and losing all internet when the battery dies. An individual SIM or eSIM per person avoids this.
