Solo Travel in Korea

Solo dining, building a one-person itinerary, and picking the right stay — everything that makes solo travel in Korea easier.

Where to eat alone

Gukbap rice-soup shops, ramen restaurants, set-meal eateries, and bunsik snack places all handle solo orders without awkwardness. Large food courts and convenience store meals are also easy solo options. One-person barbecue seating is growing but traditional grill houses still often require two portions — confirm before ordering.

Building a solo itinerary

Packing too many areas into one day makes the travel itself tiring. Grouping places along the same subway line makes the day flow naturally. Solo travel lets you adjust plans freely — stopping at a cafe or lingering somewhere interesting does not affect anyone else.

Solo stays and solo-friendly experiences

Guesthouses offer budget-friendly stays with a chance to meet other travelers. Capsule hotels give more private space with good shared facilities. Coin noraebangs charge per song — usually KRW 500–1,000 — and provide individual small booths designed for solo use.
